🔹There are 3 heads of the Triceps. The inner, middle and outer heads. Each time you contract your triceps they all contract, however using different exercise can emphasise the contraction of each of the heads.
🔹Isolation Exercises (eg Cable Pushdowns) mainly work the inner and outer heads of the triceps.
🔹Compound Exercises (eg French Press / Skull Crushers) mainly work the middle and outer heads of the triceps.

When building muscle you have to understand a few principles - 1st you don't actually build muscle in the gym - you tear it down. Through replenishing glycogen (energy source in your muscles to fuel your training), spiking insulin and providing a rapidly available protein source to be shuttled to your muscle tissue to repair the damage done to them in the gym - you've now created the environment for building muscle.
Side note - I use Ignition to replenish my glycogen and spike my insulin and Phormula 1 to provide a rapidly digesting protein source (the amino acids) to repair the damage done - both from @1stphorm (link is in my bio for free shipping).
To create that damage to the muscle tissue, you can't just throw weights around from point A to point B. You need to execute each movement properly to engage the targeted muscle groups, train with enough intensity, use an appropriate tempo, and progressively overload the muscle with either more reps, sets, or total weight.
That being said - over 16 years of training, control is one of the keys that I've learned to deliver the best results. .
