In 2015, I was approached by the @beekman1802boys to take part in photographing a cookbook based around the heritage, family influenced ingredients of Sicily. I got to eat so much warm and nourishing food, but being around the atmosphere of such a community rich in their kindness and culture - well that was incredible all the more.
Finally launching some two years later in late ‘17, it’s so amazing to see it so greatly reviewed by the New York Times with a focus on the photography. It’s such an important thing to create timeless work for our clients, all the lasting taste changes our approach entirely.
Here’s a shot from the book, A Seat at the Table. It’s available at Barnes and Noble and Amazon.

2017 in 1/5th review. Meaning this is about 1/5th of the clients we had from last year alone - many, many projects that kept us challenged, warm and fed throughout the year as we provided our work for so many others. It was such an honor working alongside such great and grand people, and we know this year is full of more to come. Take a scroll and take a look, what’s your favorite piece?

Wow! The response has just been, insane. When leaving Instagram it was clear to me I needed to separate my self and life from the direct impact social media was having on me.
Work has just been incredibly full since leaving and myself and team couldn’t be more grateful for it. We’ve had just request after request, and to still go places and be approached in a more gentle way shows me the respect people have for tough decisions. Already buzzing about and watching this following grow is such a testimony to the work we do. So thanks for joining along, even still.
A new journal will be on the blog tomorrow so go read it! If you haven’t already you can catch up on what we’re doing at 1924.us/journal
Thanks so much and all my warmth. #1924us#1924house#illustration#design#work#go#type#explore#hands#life#branding#art#christianwatson
Feeling inspired this morning as we jump into some really compelling new projects with @lelabofragrances and @camelbak and many others. It’s been such a mish-mosh if incredible clients lately ranging anywhere from photography to copywriting and nearly everything in-between. With both of my books being sold out it really pushes me to finalize this next one I’m working on with famed writer Ajaz Ahmed. I have a goofy look on my face when I shoot for projects that often looks like this: a mixture between someone concentrating too hard, and a kid who needs to see a dentist.
Here’s to Thursday’s, the Friday’s Friday. #1924us#branding#work#design#photography#film#portrait#me#christianwatson#life#go#explore#outdoors#35mm#leica#clients
We’re all susceptible to being influenced by what we see on social media, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. As long as we keep it POSITIVE, surrounding ourselves with inspirational people can help spur us on towards our goals. Every time I see the work of @1924house I’m reminded to slow down, take a breath (and step outside) and drink in the beauty of adventure. 🌲
Elle-May and I are lying in Hawaii, reminiscing about the (tough) years we’ve had together that have really shaped our spiritual life. It’s been a journey to say the least, and it’s so often overlooked just based on the life we live outwardly. The things unseen are really what define us, in and out of this world.
As we have traveled, built and crafted so much physically, there is all of this untold and really quiet power in our spirits and their refinement.
Every step has been a learning lesson for us both, and I couldn’t be more proud of the partner I have in her.
I’m very thankful for all of the brands, friends and family that have helped me make 1924 what it is now, a quieter, bolder showcase of the work we do... but also for what y’all have done for me outside of that.
